    What is Thai chicken pizza?

    Thai chicken pizza is a fusion dish that combines elements and concepts of Thai cuisine into a traditional pizza. Typically, it features a pizza base or crust topped with Thai inspired ingredients and flavors. There are variations of Thai chicken pizza because of personal preferences and ingredients used. A lot of people use peanut sauce to make Thai style pizza. Some use curry sauce as the base for the pizza. On the other hand, some like to use Thai sweet chili sauce as the sauce for pizza.

    Sweet Thai chili sauce for Thai chicken pizza:

    Personally, I love to use Thai sweet chili sauce for this Thai style chicken pizza because of it’s sweet and spicy flavor enlightens the taste of the pizza. Also, we love Papa Murphy’s Thai chicken pizza. And, this Thai chicken pizza recipe is inspired by it.

    We like to make our homemade Thai chicken pizza with a few simple ingredients because homemade sweet and spicy Thai chicken pizza recipe is healthier, cheaper and fresher than store bought pizza. 

    What are the ingredients for easy Thai chicken pizza?

    The ingredients are very simple: grilled chicken, green bell pepper, mozzarella cheese, Thai sweet chili sauce, bread flour, vegetable oil, salt, sugar, active dry yeast and water. However, you can use different toppings as you like such as onion, mushrooms, cucumbers, olives etc.

    This homemade pizza dough recipe is easy, simple and soft. The ingredients for the pizza dough are easy to find at regular grocery stores. Also, it is a straightforward process. Homemade pizza allows you to customize the dough to your preferences like you can make it into a small, medium or large pizza. 

    Speed up rising homemade pizza dough:

    My trick to speed up dough rising time is by preheating the oven at 200F, then turning off the oven. Put the dough into the oven and cover with a wet towel. The dough rises in 30 minutes.

    Do you put raw or cooked meat on pizza?

    I like to use cooked or grilled meat because no water will come out when baking the pizza and make the dough soggy.

    What temperature do you cook homemade pizza?

    I like to bake homemade pizza at 420F for 12-15 minutes until the cheese melts and is golden brown. Some like to bake them at 400F for 18-20 minutes.

    Cooking tips for how to make Thai chicken pizza:

    Toppings:

    • You can use leftover grilled chicken or frozen grilled chicken. 
    • Dice the grilled chicken into cubes.
    • Wash, cut and remove seeds from the green bell pepper. Then, cut it into small pieces.
    • We like to use mozzarella cheese, you can use other cheese if you like. 
    • I like to use homemade Thai sweet chili sauce. However, store bought Mae Ploy Thai sweet chili sauce works great as well. 

    Dough:

    • If the dough is too sticky, let it run longer, around 15 minutes. 
    • Dust some flour and divide the dough into 2 pieces depending on how big the pizza you want. I made 2 medium sized pizzas. 
    • Use your hands to stretch the dough or use a rolling pin to flatten it. 
    • Personally, I like to make pizza with bread flour because it has a better texture. 
    • My trick to speed up dough rising time is by preheating the oven at 200F, then turning off the oven. Put the dough into the oven and cover with a wet towel. The dough rises in 30 minutes.

    Baking:

    • The best to bake on the pizza stone. Put the stone in the oven and preheat with the oven at 420F. When the oven reaches 420F, slide the pizza on the stone. 
    • If it is too hard to slide the pizza on the stone, put the pizza on the parchment paper and place it on the stone. Let it bake for 5-8 minutes. Then, take out the parchment paper and continue to bake the pizza for 5-8 minutes until the cheese melts.

    FAQs:

    Can I use all purpose flour? 

    Yes, you can. However, bread flour has better texture and the result is better. 

    What kind of Thai sweet and chili sauce do you use? 

    Sometimes, I use homemade Thai sweet chili sauce. However, this Mae Ploy Thai sweet chili sauce is great for any dipping sauce and Thai style chicken pizza recipe. 

    What kind of cheese do you use? 

    I like to use mozzarella cheese for pizza. You can use other cheeses if you like. 

    Can I use other toppings? 

    Of course, you can use other toppings like mushrooms, olives, onion, basil and cucumbers. 

    Instructions for how to make homemade easy Thai chicken pizza: 

    Dough:

    1. Pour 1 & ¼ cups of water into the Bosch mixer. Then, put 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of oil and 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast. Turn on the lowest setting #1. Let it mix a little bit, turn off and wait for 5 minutes.

    2. After that, in a bowl put 3 cups of bread flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix it well.

    3. Turn on the mixer at the lowest setting #1, slowly add the flour mixture from step 2. When the dough comes together, increase the speed to #3 medium high speed. Let it run for 10 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, you can run it for 15 minutes.

    4. Next, put the dough in the bowl and cover with the wet towel. Let it rise at room temperature for 45 minutes . (My trick to speed up dough rising time is by preheating the oven at 200F, then turning off the oven. Put the dough into the oven and cover with a wet towel. The dough rises in 30 minutes.)

    5. Wash, remove seed and dice 1 medium sized green bell pepper.

    6. Dice 2 pieces of grilled chicken thigh into cubes. (You can use leftover grilled chicken or frozen store bought one.)

    7. When the dough rises, uncover and take out the dough.

    8. Dust some bread flour on the surface, divide the dough into 2 pieces.

    9. Use hands to stretch and flatten the dough or use a rolling pin to roll and flatten the dough.

    10. The following step, pour ¼ cup of Thai sweet chili sauce on the dough. Then, spread it evenly on the dough.

    11. Sprinkle ½ cup of mozzarella cheese on the Thai sweet chili sauce over the flatten dough.

    12. After, sprinkle ¼ cup of the diced green bell pepper and ½ cup of diced grilled chicken. Then, sprinkle another ½ cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken and green pepper.

    13. Preheat the oven with the pizza stone at 420F. Then, slide the pizza on the stone and bake it for 12-15 minutes until the cheese melts and gold brown. (If it is too hard to slide the pizza on the stone, put the pizza on the parchment paper and place it on the stone. Let it bake for 5-8 minutes. Then, take out the parchment paper and continue to bake the pizza for 5-8 minutes until the cheese melts.)

    Toppings:

    • 2 pieces Grilled chicken thighs (Boneless and skinless)
    • 1 Green bell pepper (Medium sized)
    • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese (1 cup per pizza)
    • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce (¼ cup per pizza)

    Dough:

    • 1&¼ cup Water
    • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
    • 2 tablespoons Sugar
    • 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
    • 3 cups Bread flour
    • 1 teaspoon Salt

    Instructions
