What is Thai pad ka prao?

Pad ka prao is a Thai dish that means holy basil stir fry. It’s also called phat kaphrao and some even spell it pad ka pow. Besides, it’s the best to serve with rice and crispy pan fried egg. Often, it is stir fried with chicken, pork, beef or seafood with sweet Thai basil.

What are the ingredients in pad ka pao?

In this pad ka prao recipe, I used ground pork, sweet Thai basil, garlic, shallots, tamarind concentrate, lime juice, brown sugar, fish sauce and soy sauce. I put chili peppers as an option. You can add chili peppers if you want it spicy.
