    Flavorable black pepper sauce is great match with meats, rice and potatoes. This black pepper sauce recipe is very simple and tasty. And, black pepper chicken chop is one the popular dishes in Hong Kong.

    What is black pepper sauce (黑椒汁)?

    There are different kinds of black pepper sauce. Some are for stir fried and some serve as a sauce with rice and meat.

    This black pepper sauce recipe is kind of like gravy and great to serve with meats such as steak, chicken chop and pork chop. However, it is not creamy like peppercorn sauce.

    What are the ingredients in black pepper sauce (黑椒汁)?

    In this recipe, I use garlic, onion, black pepper, beef broth, sugar, salt, worcestershire and flour to thicken it.

    Cooking tips for how to make black pepper sauce (黑椒汁):

    • Minced garlic and cut onion into small pieces and stir fried in a pan a little bit.
    • In a bowl add beef broth, sugar, salt, pepper, worcestershire and flour. Mix them very well. Then, pour the mixture and keep stirring until it’s thicken.
    • Simmer for few minutes to let the flavor of garlic and onion come out.
    • Add black pepper to your taste I suggest to add ¼ teaspoon at a time.

    How hot is the sauce?

    It depends how much black pepper you add. In the recipe, I add ¾ teaspoon and it's little spicy. You can reduce to ½ teaspoon. I suggest to add ¼ teaspoon at a time.

    What do you use for the sauce?

    I usually use this sauce for steak, chicken chop, pork chop or meatball dishes.

    • 1 can Beef broth 14.50z (411g)
    • 5 cloves Garlic
    • ½ Onion small
    • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
    • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • ⅛ teaspoon Salt
    • 2 tablespoons All purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
    • ½ tablespoon Brown sugar
    • ¾ teaspoon Black pepper Ground (suggest add ¼ teaspoon and to your taste)

          The black pepper sauce can last for 3-5 days in the refrigerator.
