    Oven roasted chicken is simple and easy. You can use an empty soda can or a cake stand. However, rotisserie chicken requires specialized equipment. The choice between the two depends on your preferences, cooking goals and availability of equipment.

    The best way to bake whole chicken with crispy skin is to put the chicken up straight using an empty soda can or cake stand. Most people call this way a beer can chicken. It is because the chicken can be cooked evenly and has a nice crispy golden brown skin. The idea is pretty similar to the skewered rotisserie chicken.

Besides, this is the best way to bake juicy and tender whole chicken with crispy skin at home for your centerpiece of a meal.

    In this bake or roast whole chicken recipe, the ingredients are salt, garlic powder, parsley and a whole chicken. You can use other herbs or seasonings. I just try to keep it simple and use only 3 seasonings.

    In this bake or roast whole chicken recipe, I baked at 425 F and the time depends on how big the chicken is. 

    How long to bake a whole chicken?

    Using this beer can style method to roast or bake a whole chicken average is around 45-75 minutes for 4-7 pounds chicken at 425 F. The time depends on the weight of the chicken. Normally, it's around 10-15 mins per pound (depending on the temperature).

    But, I usually start with 10 minutes per pound, then add more minutes until it's internal temperature reaches 165 F. For example, in this recipe the chicken is 5.25 pounds. I baked for around 52-55 minutes.

    There are a lot of side dishes go well with baked whole chicken. You can serve them with rice, fried rice, noodles, asparagus, roasted potatoes, choy sum and, sweet potatoes leaves stir fry.
